The angle
The records come from the people whose job is finding them. Spin Upon follows the tastemaker DJs in each genre and gathers every recording of their latest live sets and radio shows as they happen. From those recordings it pulls the tracklists.
Those tracklists build a graph. A track mixed into another track is a node. A label’s release series is a node. So is the moment Villalobos plays a piece of classical music and then drops a banger: two records that sound nothing alike, joined because someone with taste put them next to each other.
What plays here is drawn from that graph. You discover new songs through what is actually being played, by the people worth listening to, right now.
